Skywatching: August 15

The skies have cleared in Chicago, and the waxing gibbous moon is in the southern sky after dark. Actually, you can find the moon during the daytime also (look to the southeast in the afternoon).

The bright star below and to the right of the moon (on Thursday night) is Antares, the brightest star in the constellation Scorpio.
