Venus and Saturn

Venus and Saturn are close together after sunset this week, but you will need a clear western horizon to see them.

As I mentioned earlier, Venus and Saturn are about to leave the evening sky. This week, however, you might be able to see them both as they are close together in the twilight sky. At about 7:45 pm CDT, the sky should be just dark enough to see Saturn. Venus will be easy to spot as long as you don’t have a lot of buildings or trees to see over. Binoculars will help, if you have them. See the diagram below.
