io9 posts about recent news that the Hubble Telescope found plumes of water erupting near the South Pole of Jupiter’s moon Europa. Europa has long been suspected of having a liquid water ocean underneath the surface, and this discovery seems to indicate that this water is much more accessible from the surface than once thought.
Jupiter is easily seen in the night sky right now. It rises at about 6:15 pm Central time; by 7:00 pm it is easily visible in the eastern sky–the brightest object in that direction.
