Of course, the brightest star visible from Chicago is our very own SUN. Below is a movie of the Sun (from June 29 to July 1) in the extreme ultraviolet, courtesy of NASA/SDO and the AIA, EVE, and HMI science teams. You can see lots of magnetic activity.
