Snow Moon and Jupiter

February’s Full Moon, aptly named the “Snow Moon,” shined brightly last night (Tuesday, February 3), but we Chicagoans likely didn’t see it due to the brief snow shower and subsequently cloudy skies. This morning, however, I woke before sunrise to find the skies clear enough to see the Moon setting in the west with brilliant Jupiter nearby.

If the skies clear tonight, Jupiter will still be in the vicinity of the nearly-full (but now waning gibbous) Moon. Look for the two rising in the east after sunset tonight.
